Hello!

I haven’t been here for a while but we have moved house from Skye to Yorkshire. The weather is better here but I don’t live by the sea any more. It’s still beautiful here and there are lots of new places to explore.

In the Easter holidays we went collecting wild garlic and nettles for soup. I found lots and filled a whole bag with it.

We have been out on a lot of walks recently. It snowed at the start of the holidays but then it was really hot and sunny.

I have seen all kinds of animals: sheep, lambs, cows, horses, deer, garden birds and even peacocks. We have magpies here (there weren’t any on Skye). In our garden, there are blue tits making a home in the nest box.

We have LOTS of ladybirds in our new garden. We counted ten at once. There’s a wasp’s nest in the garage so we have to be careful.

The garden has trees and an overgrown vegetable patch with a huge rhubarb plant and strawberries growing everywhere.

I’ve been doing a lot of art. We bought some oil pastels and I drew pictures of my Venus fly trap and cacti. There’s a garden centre close by which we visit and they have a pet section with cold water and tropical fish. I have a new 60 litre fish tank and 15 fish. The tank is sphere shaped and has a light in it.

The cat loves it here and does a lot of sunbathing but the other cats have all come over for a fight. Ours isn’t very good at fighting, he’s better at sleeping.

I think I’m going to like living in Yorkshire. We bought some maps to find paths to explore, and there are plenty of animal parks and aquariums to visit in the summer.
